打算去法国旅行，请问有人曾经在英国境内邮寄申请（BY POST）法国签证的么，请问需要预约么。本人在非LONDON地区读书，希望申请过的人指点
签证的事情最好还是亲自去，法国使馆需要预约

我刚刚办了，BY POST，花了两周，但是其中因文件不全浪费了一周，
这些网站我都看过了， 只是不知道需不需要预约，（BY POST）要提前多久预约和是不是一定要定机票和酒店？

16 Jan(Friday) Sent application package(Including as Following) to Embassy of France(6A Cromwell Place,London SW7 2EW)
(Late Afternoon) A.Schengen Application Form
B.Original passport
C.Certification of the course(issued by programme office)
D.Hotel Booking certification(by Fax and printed confirm e-mail together)
E.Bank statement of December
F.Copy of Certificate of Registration(Not applyable to all.It might not be necessary)
G.1 photo
H.Postal order of 24.48 pounds bought at post office(The amount of application fee may change due to the exchange rate.Need to check it on the website of embassy of france)
I.Returned envelop with 60 pence stamp
21 Jan(Wednesday) CONSULAT GENERAL DE FRANCE A LONDRES, SERVICE DES VISAS received my application package and sent me a mail requiring return ticket to france and payment certification and 1 extra photo.
23 Jan(Friday) The mail arrived my home. But I was out.
26 Jan(Monday) I got the mail and sent additional documents to CONSULAT GENERAL DE FRANCE A LONDRES, SERVICE DES VISAS
(Late Afternoon) A.return ticket to france and payment certification(printed confirm e-mail from easyjet)
B.1 extra photo
C.the mail itself(got their refer. no. on it)
28 Jan(Wednesday) CONSULAT GENERAL DE FRANCE A LONDRES, SERVICE DES VISAS received my additional documents and granted me VISA and sent back to me with recorded mail, which cost extra 30 pence, payed by the embassy.
30 Jan(Friday) I received a mail card regarding that a recorded mail is available in the enquiry office in manchester road.
31 Jan(Saturday) I went and signed for collecting the return package,which includes my passport and VISA and other documents.
By reviewing the procedure, I found that it will take around 1 week after sending full documents to get the passport and VISA back. After all,I got some suggestions for application by post.
A. Include full documents at the same time as possible,especially the 2 photoes.
B. Sent to CONSULAT GENERAL DE FRANCE A LONDRES, SERVICE DES VISAS, rather than the Embassy of france. It might save time.
