Do you know that the Home Office are proposing to increase the fee for international students extending their visas?
The fee for an application to extend a student visa is currently £155 for applications made by post and £250 for premium applications (made in person).
From April 2005, the Home Office is proposing to raise these fees up to as much as £380 (postal service) and £495 (premium service)!
The University and the Guild of Students have been asked to submit responses with views on how this could affect students here. The comments we submit will help the Home Office to come to a final decision (and possibly to reconsider their recommendations) so it is very important that students participate in the debate. This may affect you, your friends and all international students studying in the UK – now and in the future!
