很多私校学生喜欢去诺丁汉,一直没想通为什么。

智力第一位吧。其实孩子不管生在什么家庭,智力有高有低。第二位是家庭。家庭给予一种生活方式,一种为人处事方式,影响孩子一生。第三是学校。智力算是天时,家庭是地利。没有一个好的老师,再聪明的孩子都可能走弯路。

马克一下,晚点来看结果。

私立学校都有入学考试,oxbridge入学率高毋庸置疑。grammar school的oxbridge入学比例和私立差不多不是嘛?拿个别学校比较我感觉没啥意义不能说明什么问题吧~

PS:hills road就这样也不是什么豪宅区,在science park工作的人应该不大会想去住在那里,相隔实在是太远了!!!:):slight_smile:

个别学校比确实没有什么意义,问题是孩子不可能所有学校都去考啊,只能从个人具体经验出发对比同地区私校和公校入学考试难易程度,从个别学校的经验看同地区“同级别”私校和公立Grammar对比,入学考试难易程度没有太大差别。

应该加一个选项:三者不是缺一不可的关系,而是任何两者拥有,就可以高枕无忧哈。

好奇的是学校考试的入学paper难度系数相差不大,那intake学生的这个level是怎么样的?

比如说A和B学校都intake报名学生的前20名,但是报名A学校的学生总体要比B学校的学生好,那么A学校intake的前20名就比B学校的前20名能力更好,这样就会有区别了。。。

前两天看了个关于中国高考状元的新闻。给大家节选一点看看。
“ 请看中央教科院的调查结果:

不止如此,他们还有另一个调查结果:

国内学霸通常不是很有钱家庭。

我觉得家庭教育非常的非常的重要!!! 父母的品性决定了孩子的性格~ 如果孩子出生在没有教养或者残缺家庭~孩子的性格必定有些许变化的。。。

还是觉得智力,家庭学校的综合影响,成就一个人。个别例外

你说的有道理,同样考试标准考生群体不一样。

我只能说我知道的情况,我家上公立Grammar的孩子有同学考上私校也是上得起的家庭选择了公校(就是说考得上公立Grammar的一般也考得上私校),我家上私校的孩子有同学没有考上公立Grammar所以上私校了(就是说考得上私校的不一定考得上公立Grammar),所以我说同地区“同级别”私校和公立Grammar比,入学时候公立Grammar的孩子要好一些,但出来的时候私校明显要好得多。当然很多人不会同时考私校和公立Grammar。

不谈comprehensive,感觉能进grammar的和私立的家庭教育估计是八九不离十。我觉得可以看看grammar和私立进入oxbridge的学生的学科分布到底是怎样的,如果有不少私立的学生进入oxbridge攻读arts或者classic之类的subjects,而grammar进去的大部分是science subjects。那说不定能解释点原因。

不好投票。但是觉得私校的教育是很重要的,有人教书就是有一套,会教!!!

环境也有关系吧,公立学校好多渣学生,会带坏的。公立也不能随便开除渣学生。

我看过不少公立私立中学很多年的university destination,是有你说的这个现象,私立的上oxbridge攻读arts或者classic的多而grammar的上science和medician的多,但最近这两年trend开始变了,私立的学生上science和engineering的比以前增加不少,这可能是和job market有关系吧。

私校给学生的support以及对学生的期望值确实要比公立grammar强多了,好的私校是比公立grmmmar好,但差别值不值一年2万就看从什么人的观点看了,我觉得不值。:lol

你说的对学习好的以后不一定有成就。

学习好上个好大学找个好工作是一条可以预知的成长道路,而学习一般上学一般以后有大成就是一条完全不可预知的成长道路,大部分父母估计还是愿意为孩子选择一条可以预知的成长道路吧;P
