2个问题， 第一， 母狗狗一般第一次发情（月经），是不是最后不交配， 怕她太小 （我们是小博美， 小型犬）， 我有听说最好第二次甚至有VET说最后第三次发情时再交配， 大家的建议呢？
第二， 母狗是在月经前交配， 还是月经期间，还是之后交配呢？ （我自己觉得应该和人一样吧， 但怎么知道她发情了呢，如果不看到月经）。
另外， 谁家有有证书的男博美可以交配的，可以留下联系方式吗？

lz, please do some more research before plan to breed your dog.
Such as, Are you prepare to get her professional check up before breeding? How many litter are you planning to have? etc.
ok then, anyway, i will leave two time for her in season, so i have plenty of time for the preparation. We have petathome plan for her so will consult vet next time when her flea drop is due. Even I got answers from this forum, I will definitely search more infor and ask more people for my lovely daughter before she is ready for breed. No worries.
Apparently, you can do the flea and ticks treatment in-house, doesn’t need to take her to pet at home in case you didn’t aware of. Personal feeling pet at home ain’t the best bet for you to take advices from as they change their vets too frequent, also they always ask too much “products” for the owner to buy. Animal welfare doesn’t seems is their best interest. Maybe get her on an insurance would be better value to buy pet at home’s plan, if she does not has one.
Need to find out what is your dog’s breed prone genetics health issues are, and get examinations from yours as well as her partner’s before any litter. =)

Mine is a female Pom, do u think it is better to get stud from where I bought her (breeder)? as he will pick up any one from my pom’s puppies or do u think it s better to buy a male one with the same breed? My pom daughter does not bark a lot but what I worried is she would do if I got another male pom at home as Pom is a breed who like barking a lot.
why is insurance so important to her? for safety or health treatment?
My direct debit contains: free nail cut, flea drop, from worm tablet (once every 3 months), discounted products and groom, not just flea drop. Do u think it is good to change another package when it expires as I heard the injection needs to be done every year, what are they for? Any recommendation for good pet package and shop?
I also buy products from ‘Zoopla’, any better web or shops better than petathome?

generally you want your female to be fully mature before you start to breed, which usually means you have to skip the first heat cycle and the dog is about 1 to 1.5 years old. Fully mature dog will produce healthier puppies and it won’t stunt her own growth.
When female dog goes into heat, she will first bleed for about 1 week, during which she will not let a male mate her. After that she will become interested in mating and her discharge will be yellowish in color. This lasts about 7 to 9 days depends on the dog. Mating should be done for several days to ensure the maximum number of puppies. If mating is successful, she will be pregnant for 64 days before the puppies are born. Hopefully her labour will be smooth and you won’t have to go get emergency C-section, which is possible for small breeds.
Before breeding, you should definitely check for genetic diseases that your breed is prone to. Find a male (stud) that has good health history. You don’t have go back to the breeder where you bought her, but if you do, they should make sure the stud is not related to her for 2 to 3 generations, and be prepared for a stud fee!
First, you have to find out is our Pom are well fit in terms of genetics issues check up. They are quite expensive to run but they are worth to do so, as you don’t want any your future puppies suffering from any of these. It can be search easily via Google.LinkFound you a basic introduction of your breed. Once your dog is suitable to breed from, you can go to Kennel Club to find registered stud dog to breed from. I would not recommend to buy other opposite sex dog to breed from. Otherwise they would be very busy and eventually is not good for your dog being over-breed.
Why is insurance is important?
Insurance is for to protect you and your dog. In the UK, dog is cat. as property. In other word, if you let your dog run off-lead ( which is illegal at the most place) and involve a road incident. Someone get injured claimed that to avoid to hit into your dog, but he/she hit into an object. He/she has the right make those claims against you. You may or may not liable to pay the bill. Insurance would help you in this situation.
Let’s say, dog being really ill, and the vet bills cannot be estimate. By the time you would get into a situation to pay the bill or put her in sleep because you are in difficulties to make the payment.
I understand it is hard to image that would happen, but often enough things happen as not as expected. I doubt pet at home health plan would take care any of these apart of offering you a tiny discount on products and the vet bills.

In terms of nail clipping, you can do it by self. Vet nurse also don’t know how far can the black nail to be clipped too. They just do it bit by bit and check at the under nail or even they just clip it where your dog’s paw stand on the ground and nails are just away from the ground.
Just shop around with the flea and tick treatment, wormer, etc. even same for the same brands prices are vary. Actually they are not expensive to buy online from others.
Personally don’t really follows what they recommended such as put the drop every 4 weeks, wormer every 3 months. I only apply when in real needed. Such as in high flea and tick seasons, snail and slugs seasons, etc, also depending where I take my dog for walkies, is it high expose to those hazards? As these has been arguable topic that pet owner over drug their pet. So some would recommend for holistic treatment which could use essential oil to repellent flea and tick.
I would recommend to use Petplan insurance, as they are specialist tailor made for pet insurance unlike supermarkets’, automobiles’ which are majorly target in different sector. Forget about those in-house health plan, as that tiny little discount won’t save you when real thing happened. (Touch wood)
Zooplus is a good place to shop with. It also depending what products are you after, they might not be the best place for medication products.

BTW, in term of mature, it also depending on the breed too sometimes, general speaking large breed dog would come to fully mentally and physically mature later than small breed dog.
