The proposal is that CIMA and AICPA would create a new not-for-profit organisation called the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants. This would be the accreditation body for a new set of designatory letters which will be announced in due course.
Our members would continue to use their existing ACMA or FCMA letters after their names, or alternatively, they would have the option to use these as appropriate in conjunction with the new designation. It is hoped that the new designation would gain widespread recognition in the Americas. This is consistent with CIMA’s strategy of developing the science of management accounting on a global basis.
