帮朋友求助一个问题，10年永居差一年，拿到博士offer，回国签学生签有用吗？

前九年是学生签加dependant visa ，回国签学生签，拿到的学生签应该是 entry clearance。
但10年签最后申请的要求是 You must have permission to stay (‘leave to remain’). This can be in any immigration category, or a combination of different immigration categories
不知道 这个学生签的 entry clearance 是否可以用来做10年签最后一段的申请。

这句的意思是，你需要你目前的签证可以在英国续签，所以学生签ok的，如果是旅游签就不行，因为旅游签没法在英国续签只能回国重签

In order to qualify for indefinite leave to remain on the basis of long residence under paragraph 276B of the Immigration Rules, applicants must demonstrate at least 10 years continuous lawful residence in the UK.

Lawful residence is defined in paragraph 276A of the Immigration Rules as a period of continuous residence in which the applicant has had one of the following:

  1. existing leave to enter or remain;
  2. temporary admission within section 11 of the 1971 Immigration Act where leave to enter or remain is subsequently granted;
  3. an exemption from immigration control, including where an exemption ceases to apply if it is immediately followed by a grant of leave to enter or remain.

简单点说，如何合法签证都可以，包括visitor 签证。

第一 楼主的陪伴签转学生签也是不能在英国办的 和visitor一样要回国办

第二 十年只要是任何lawful stay就可以 甚至包括visitor签 只是一般的visitor签只能逗留180天 所以不能连续使用visitor签证来混十年 但是visitor加上移民类签证是可以凑够十年的

楼主其实不是你说的这个意思

第一，楼主的意思是他目前是学生签证，但是是在国内办的学生签证，所以是 entry clearance，因为学生签满足一定条件的话可以在英国续签所以可以将最后的学生签转成永居，而且即便楼主目前是dependent签证也没有关系，因为dependent签证如果满足一定条件也可以在英国续签，只要最后一个签证能在英国续签就可以转成10年永居。

第二，但如果是旅游签做为最后一个签证则一般不可以，因为旅游签不能在英国境内续签，也就是不符合文中的permission to stay (‘leave to remain’)，所以旅游签不能做为最后一个签证，但是可以做为凑10年的签证。

最后一个签证是旅游签证都可以！！！只要你在最后一个旅游签证跨过10年永居就可以。只不过是如果签证官发觉你这个旅游签证一旦发放给你，你就会越过10年，签证官会考虑是否发这个签证给你。但如果签证官一旦发放这个旅游签证给你，你就可以在这个旅游签证的期间，在英国申请10年永居。

10年永居是个人权问题，不是签证问题，也不是签证能否延续的问题。只要你这10年是连续在英国合法居留的，无论你最后一个签证是旅游签证，还是其他签证，甚至是只有‘一星期’的过境签证，都可以在签证期内在英国本土提出申请10年永居。
