some university staff do that as part-time jobs at reasonable prices (usually half of what full time proof readers charge). a lot of them have English Ph.D. or have prove read for publications. i think you can ask library staff. or your department secretary, or graduate school office… :slight_smile:

i wouldn’t! a lot of phd fail or with heavy amendments on language, so you never know…most of them need proof reading as well. but i might consider if it’s a native student studying English phd or have already publish papers - feel free to ask them! it’ll be the best to find a native English speaker with an English Ph.D/degree, better if they published papers or proof read publications. (if yours is only undergraduate then i think native speaker with good English should be able to do it, but if it’s a phd thesis then you really need a person who’s written to that level.)

真心感激你的答复！ 说到我心坎上了，我认识的一些博士生也确实没有那么理想的英文水平。
几个本土的博士生，貌似也懒得去挣这个钱，宁愿去看孩子也不做这个。 找到有耐心，语言水平好的，不很容易吖
