I do not know all details, but I think that you need to pay minimum 10 yrs NI to qualify for basic state pension. Anyway, the pension entitlement for two yrs NI contribution is negligible even you can get it.
It is called final salary pension scheme. Nowadays it’s normally Final Average Pay pension, a type of defined contribution pension plan.
Almost all the public sector workers are on this pension plan, i.e. government and council workers, TfL, BP…
I know it is called the final salary scheme, but I do not know which company’s schme gives the FULL final salary.
