可能不叫SMP，但却是是按照SMP的标准支付的。这个要看学校和奖学金支付机构的规定了
假是肯定得给你的，这是基本人权
但钱就不一定了，LZ去找找看你的stuidentship发放机构有没有相关规定，有的机构是给的

我university of nottingham，在读博士。办的suspension，理由是maternity leave，时间两个月。学校international office的人说，两个月以上要离境。我当时休完两个月之后，正好是圣诞假，所以又多休了十来天，但是整体个加起来也就两个半月多。你要是想多休，可以申请两个月休学，然后复学后，接着申请annual leave，一般跟导师说好了也没问题啊。不过我觉得休两个半月也是差不多够了，但是前提是得有人来帮你带孩子。我妈现在白天在这帮我带，我纯母乳，现在宝宝三个半月，我早上上班前喂一次，中午回家喂一次，下班回家再喂一次。感觉节奏还不错，也不会太累，毕竟读PhD时间还自由一些

26周你休产假，怎么做研究，不做研究，怎么会让你继续迟学生签。
你如果要休那么久，休学回国签证取消，到时候回来继续的时候再申请过。
我同学回去收集data花一年时间，签证都是重新搞过的。
楼主想清楚是否回国了, 因为你一旦回国,我可以说,你会以后慢慢的,因为照顾小孩子,不会继续读书的. 这是一种的心理变化.~~~~

啥？带娃就不能读书？那你让我们这些带娃还要上班的怎么活？
我和你一样，如果只是T4签证的话，最多只能拿6周，这跟学校没关系，是英国签证的政策，但如果你换永居，则可以拿一年，楼主加油哦！当了妈妈很不容易的，主要是得有人看娃才有精力继续学习！
不是不给你产假，关键是因为你签证原因吧。 T4是学生签，前提是full time student. 休几个月假还怎么满足 full time student的条件呢？这个就是休学了呀。 休学了，学生条件自然不满足，学生签证收回也合道理么。 这个的确是UKVI 对T4的规定。
phd 还是比较轻松至少不是象taught master什么的必须去上课。其实你只要保持和学校contact points 都有联系上，没有算 interruption of study, 那签证就继续有效。
你说的生完后的2 周的假期是 compulsory maternity leave. 如果连这2周都不给你才叫不给人权。
然后说你问的这个 26周的 ordinary maternity leave 。 这个是对于 employee 来说的。你是不是还在学校做TA之类的？这些工作，你的 right to work 都是 建立在你的T4学生签证上的。 你看下你的 employment contract, 应该有你的合同是 subject to right to work in UK 之类的条款。 如果签证不保的话，employment contract 就终止。合同终止，就不是employee 自然没有maternity leave了。 我个人观点是如果你回国去生孩子，就是休学了，那这个 ordinary maternity leave也是不能享受的 - 原因是你的雇佣关系因为你不再有 T4签证所给你的 right to work in UK 而终止了。 这个情况下，你应该还是可以问HMRV申请 maternity allowance. 看你之前工作了多久，是否满足 maternity allowance 的要求了。
最后，你应该仔细研究下你们学校对于 Interruption of study 条款到底是怎么写的。
我们学校这是归在 attendance & engagement monitoring 下面的。这个是UKVI 的要求。 里面有明确写明如果T4学生怀孕要求产假有哪两个选择。 你搜搜看你们学校是否有类似规定。

What happens if I require a period of maternity leave?
If you are thinking about maternity leave you should get medical advice as early as possible as there may be health reasons which stop you from flying. You should also speak to your airline as soon as possible as some airlines do not permit pregnant women to fly after a certain time during pregnancy.
UKVI say that all students who interrupt their study should leave the UK and return to their home country.
The University offers students who become pregnant, during their period of study and wish to take maternity leave, two opportunities:
If the period of suspension is longer than three months, you can suspend your study and leave the UK.
If the period of suspension is less than 3 months, you can suspend your registration for up to three months and come back after a period of authorised absence. During this time you will need to keep in contact with the Tier 4 Compliance Team and you will need to agree how you are going to do this before you leave.
实际操作中，我知道的几个读博生娃T4的，都2个月回来了。 2周compulsory maternity leave, + 6周的 annual leave. 博士学生也是有annual leave的，我们学校是每年有6周。这样就没有中断学习。当然都是提前都计划好的。
看了楼主后面的回帖，知道你还在申请 PR中。
如果你的确是还在学校有工作的话，你应该通知你学校的 HR,并把你申请PR的 confirmation letter 交给他们察看。 因为你已经申请新的leave to remain，在结果出来前，你当前签证一直有效。
可是如果你不告诉你的雇主，雇主怎么会知道呢？
