You can get a first class degree from the grades of your third year
Do you agree that Durham is slightly better than Bristol?
Total number of FTE staff submitted
The Oxford Medical School is traditional in its teaching and is therefore split into Pre-Clinical and Clinical phases of the course, with Pre-Clinical (Years 1-3) students being based in the University Science Area in Oxford City Centre, and Clinical students (Years 4-6) being based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, in Headington, Oxford.
Medical Teaching since c12th century
Clinical School established 1936
From September 2017, all preclinical students will stay in Cambridge for the clinical component of the course, subject to satisfactory progression. This will increase the annual intake to around 260 students. Around 10 of those students are offered places on the MBPhD programme; in addition, 20 students are admitted to the Cambridge Graduate-entry Course (CGC) (this will rise to 40 students from 2018-19).
Based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, the Clinical School offers the opportunity to study in one of the most exciting medical centres in the UK, where high quality clinical care is supported by excellent teaching and research.
Progress to clinical training:
At the start of the third year students can apply to the Oxford Clinical School or one of the London medical schools to undertake their clinical training.
