下面就是说为了疫苗更好的保存， 更加stable，解冻好可以冷藏10周，原来加在vaccine里的phosphate buffered saline，sodium chloride 和potassium chloride被拿出来了，护士要等用的时候再加入。
Sodium chloride 和potassium chloride是什么呢，简单点说就是盐。
一般的药和active pharmaceutical ingredients都有stability test的， 这也决定医药的shelf life。
To provide a vaccine with an improved stability profile, the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine
for use in children 5-11 years of age uses tromethamine (Tris) buffer instead of the phosphate buffered saline (PBS) as used in the previous formulation and excludes sodium chloride and
potassium chloride. The packaged vials for the new formulation are stored frozen at -90°C to -
60°C. The frozen vials may be thawed and stored at refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C for up to 10
weeks.
The Pfizer‑BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine does not contain preservative. The vial stoppers are
not made with natural rubber latex. For the 10-μg RNA dose, each 1.3-mL filled via vial must be
diluted with 1.3mL 0.9% sodium chloride for injection to provide 10 doses at 10 μg RNA / 0.2 mL
Injection volume. After dilution, the vials should be stored at 2°C to 25°C and should be used
within 12 hours.

这个成分Tromethamine用于治疗代谢性酸中毒。比如心脏搭桥手术，或者心梗。
换成这个原理还是一样的啊，也是为了保存和stable。
看下面，这个在这里用的是buffer，Tris是很多化妆品，药品里用的buffer， 完全安全的。也是很多药物里的一种ingridience 或者 buffer， 这个和vaccine不搭边啊。不能说药里的一种inactive ingredients只能在一种药里用吧。
Buffer 是干什么用的呢， buffer solution 一般就是stabliser， 就是稳定PH值之类的作用，这样药物比较stable。

Yeah, same principal as adding 泻立停 into 麻辣烫, i.e. to make the food stable, so one won’t go to the toilet when enjoying the delicious food
