Day 1 London - Amman
Depart London Heathrow for Amman by Royal Jordanian Airlines (23:59). Reception on arrival and transfer direct to 4* Imperial Palace hotel in Amman and overnight.
Day 2 Amman – Jerash – Ajloun – Umm Qais – Amman
Full Day Visiting Jerash & Ajloun & Umm Qais: Visit the ancient city of Jerash the most complete and well preserved city of the Roman Empire. Jerash is one of the Decapolis cities of the north of Jordan. Nestled in a green and well-watered valley in the biblical land of Gilead , the remains of the ancient city have long attracted tourists from all around the world, Wander among the original temples, theaters, plazas, paths and colonnaded streets, all enclosed within the remaining city walls. Then drive through the pine forests and olive groves until we reach the city of Ajloun. Then proceed to Ajlun forests and the Castle of Saladin. Ajloun Castle, more formally known as Qalaat er-Rabad, is the major ancient site within the Ajloun forests region overlooking the Jordan Valley. ”: Visit Um Qais You will visit Umm Qais which offers beautiful views over the Northern Jordan valley, the Sea of Galilee, and the Golan Heights . Umm Qais is known for its beautiful over looking Lake Tiberius, back to hotel in Amman For Overnight at 4* Imperial Palace hotel. (B, D)
Day 3 Amman – Madaba - Wadi Rum
We journey south along the Kings Highway to visit Madaba, the fantastic city of Mosaics from the Bysantine era and Mt Nebo (the burial place of Moses). Also visit the site of John the Baptist’s settlement at Bethany beyond the Jordan, where Jesus was baptised. In the afternoon we drive through Wadi Mujib, a deep valley holding one of Jordan’s most breathtaking views to the first crusader castle of Karak. Overnight camping at Wadi Rum (B,D)
Day 4 Wadi Rum - Aqaba
Wadi Rum where the movie Lawrence of Arabia and Red Planet was filmed is a uniquely shaped massive mountain that rose amongst the rosy red sand of the desert with towering cliffs of various brownish, reddish, and golden colors. Amongst this emptiness and silence you will explore the desert in 4x4 Jeeps visiting the holographic pictures carved before Christ on this intriguing tour. After this exciting excursion we then transfer to Aqaba and stay at 5* Movenpick Hotel (B, D)
Day 5 Aqaba - Petra
Morning at leisure on the shores of the Red Sea. Aqaba is famous for it’s water sports and adventure activates, there are a host of more leisurely activities that can be enjoyed by visitors who wish to relax, rejuvenate or just get away from the pressures of city life. For those who prefer their marine life at arm’s length, glass-bottomed boats are a fun way to enjoy the marvels of the Red Sea, In the afternoon, we drive to Petra and overnight at 4* Petra Panorama Hotel. Day 6 Petra
Spend a full day exploring the rose-red city known as Sela in the Bible and lost to the world for five centuries until it was rediscovered in 1812. Enter Petra on horseback through a narrow gorge carved in the sandstone and opening on the stunning view of the Treasury, made famous in the movie “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom”. Various walks and climbs reveal literally hundreds of buildings, tombs, baths, funerary halls, temples, arched gateways, colonnaded streets and haunting rock drawings - as well as a 3000 seat open air amphitheatre circa, a gigantic first century Monastery (800 steps on top of the mountain) and a modern archeological museum, all of which can be explored at leisure. Day 7 Petra - Dead Sea
Drive to Dead Sea which is the lowest point on earth 400 meters below sea level. The Dead Sea is one of the most incredible places in the world. Dead Sea speaks for itself; there is no living fish in it! Swimming in The Dead Sea is quite an incredible feeling as it is impossible to sink in the thick brine, which is four times as salty as regular sea water. Stay at the 5* Dead Sea Marriott Resort and relax in the gently lapping waters, even the weakest swimmers need not worry as you cannot sink! (B, D)
Day 8 Dead Sea - London
Transfer to airport for flight RJ111 (11:50) back to London. Arrive in Heathrow the same day. (B)
