气死我啦，本来以为用Check&Send Service，可以快点，结果整整8天Passport Office才受到我的申请
奉劝大家还是自己寄，1st Class signed for 第二天就到拉。
貌似没人是贪快去选择这些css ncs服务的吧
请问LZ，在你申请护照时，你有没有提供你祖父母的信息？要不要求这个？谢谢

其实我当时在immigration board上的那个british passport timeline就发现了，很多人通过C&S的申请都是IPS在几天后才收到，并不是想官网说的当天就用special delivery寄出，所以当时就毅然决定自己寄了。

很抱歉的告诉你，即使是用C&S， 也是要邮寄护照原件的。
申请第一本英国护照，不管你怎么神通广大，护照原件是一定要寄的。
不用阿,不是有个机构帮check,原件都会还回来
什么机构？MI5? CIA? or KGB?

楼上的有些人把NCS和Check&Send搞混了。
没觉得慢，一般人是想让人帮着检查下
的确是有中介挡在 home office，中介是一审，然后才会寄送到签证官手上。 但重点是，退还护照这种事，你自己是否这样做过？还是谣传？
就入籍时帮你检查申请的中介阿，office 在 city council， 查完，他留个复印 所有材料都推给你 我那时候是50磅吧，费用记不清了

well, that’s the problem, it’s not applicable to me since it is my first passport in the UK, otherwise I would’ve used that 1 day service.
Puffffff…I wasn’t realise this until now, but hope my bad experience will give some heads up to the folks here.

no, you cannot keep any of your passport,
the post office staff insisted that I have to send all the passport including the cancelled one,
as I was using that one for the first entry to this country.
which delayed me for another day to fill a new form and get it countersigned again!!:@
没必要用那个S&C，有时候他们对业务不熟（毕竟入籍申请护照的是少数），让你准备一些材料或者填写不该填的。不用寄所有的护照，只寄现在正在用的那本中国护照,所有的信息都写得很清楚是Current Passport。寄护照的目的也是id check，不是查你的immigration history。
给自己邮寄申请护照的几句话， 自己填好用special delivery寄出去就好了。注意写的时候每个字不要出那个小框子，因为申请表都是用机器扫描进入系统的，如果写出框子扫在系统里就少了一部分，尤其是签名那块儿，你和你的推荐人一定要注意。一共需要的材料就是，申请表，2张照片，naturalization certificate, 中国护照（current one). 就是这么简单。
To be fair, as that is your first adult passport, the amount of time to be taken is quite acceptable.
