Situations are vary from person to person, I can only tell you in my opinion, it’s absolutely worth it to stay in the UK. Food wise, you can get literally anything you want, michelin restaurants, gourmet food, wine, not to mention tons of pubs bars where you can get decent burger and a pint of guinness, or fish and chips (My fav). Lots of options for entertainment, different shows, plays, musicals every night, global films with no delays. a few hours’ drive gets you to oasis from the world’s financial center. A weekend get away to swiss for skiing, a mini break in Nice, shopping spree in Italy, etc., all of these are 2 hours away by flight. World class education from pre-school to post graduate, famous harley street if you are sick, free society, responsible government, etc. Then again, different people have different situations. You mentioned rules are changing all the time, I suppose you meant immigration rules, yes, it’s tougher now comparing to let’s say ten years ago, but if you paid attention to Theresa May’s recent speech, the government still wants talented people, rich and famous to come and settle in the country, those who are being excluded by the policy probably can’t survive in the UK without recourse to public funds anyway. I’m a BC already, so doesn’t apply to me. Benefits were cut, well, I couldn’t care less. I finished GCSE and Six form in the UK before left for Canada, never experienced discrimination in any ways, so can’t comment on this one. Economic recession, every country in this world is suffering that, even in China, the inflation is hiking to the roof at this moment. I agree with all the people here, if you are talented, you can be successful at any where, the question is, do you like the UK, are you into the culture? For me, I love England, and I’m trying very hard to move back to the UK, although I’ve been staying in Canada for over 10 years. Hope I can be of help.
