Theresa May今天发布了一项关于移民政策的演说，从明年4月开始，PhD毕业生将可以得到一年额外的签证时间，以用于在英国找工作或者创业。

In future, all PhD students who have completed their studies will be allowed to stay here for longer to find skilled work or set up as an entrepreneur within the rules. From April, all such students will be allowed to stay in Britain for twelve months after they have completed their PhD before having to find a job or start a business.

应该可以吧，dependent本来就是可以读书的，没有道理不允许

不知道以前的PSW有没有是直接Dependent 签证读完转的

查了一下年初的archived ukba (05/04/12) dependent可以读书完后转psw,但是需要离境后申请新的entry clearance,因为那是非pbs转pbs的说.

student (under the Immigration Rules in force until March 2009)
student nurse
student re-sitting an examination
student writing up a thesis
student under Tier 4 of the points-based system
postgraduate doctor or dentist
Science and Engineering Graduates Scheme (SEGS) *
International Graduates Scheme (IGS) *
Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland Scheme (FT: WISS) *

If you are in any other immigration category, you will need to leave the UK and make your Tier 1 (Post-study work) application from abroad.

If you have recently studied in the UK as the dependant of a migrant with permission to stay in the UK, you may be able to apply under Tier 1 (Post-study work). However, you cannot switch into this category - you must leave the UK and make an application from abroad.[/u][/b]

  • If you are in one of these categories, you can apply to extend your stay under Tier 1 (Post-study work) if your current permission to stay was granted for less than 2 years. Your total stay in the UK cannot be more than 2 years.

这种情况真的好复杂,是因为pbs和非pbs?
如果已经是pbs dependent了不知道还需要回国签么

现在已经读了3年半了 回国换学生签也只有几个月 也是同样麻烦

介绍下我的情况，我是12年6月博士毕业，持的是dependent visa，目前visa快到期了。

你给的链接我进去看了，可是上面不是写着psw已经结束了么？请问那我这种情况是不是就不能申请psw了？

汗, 我那个不是回答之前人家的关于过去psw的申请疑问嘛, 而且还特意说明了是archived ukba (05/04/12)
dependent的话,就接着续签dependent或者到期申请ilr或者转其他category呗 :cn11:

莫名其妙的。 不是说本科生更好找到工作吗。 不过博士生是高端人才的是不争事实
