Lost BRP card overseas
If your Biometric Residence Permit is lost/stolen outside the UK:
•Report the loss to the local police, and get a police report.
•Send an email to [email protected] explaining that your BRP has been lost/stolen. Include details of your name, date of birth, nationality, passport number, BRP reference number, contact details and how the BRP was lost/stolen.
•Apply for a temporary replacement BRP visa which you can use only once to return to the UK.
The current cost for the temporary replacement BRP application is £72, payable in local currency.
Please note that was proposed that this fee would go up to £81 for application submitted from April 2015.

Depending on which country you are in, you may need to make your application online or by completing a paper application form. To find out more about the visa application process in the country where you are planning to submit your application, including how to apply and the location of visa application centres, visit this website: https://www.gov.uk/find-a-visa-application-centre
If you apply online, select the following when creating the application form:
In section 7 of the application, state that you are ‘applying for a Replacement BRP visa because you have lost or had your BRP stolen’.
As part of your application, you must provide your passport and a police report (translated into English) as evidence that your BRP has been reported as lost or stolen.
Important note:
•Within 1 month of arriving back in the UK you must apply for a replacement Biometric Residence Permit using application form BRP(RC)
The current cost for a BRP(RC) application is £45.
