学生签证31号到期， 所以29号去市中心的邮局寄材料。邮局的人告诉我周一会到，打电话到他们的customer service也说周一会到。周末在晚上查也是说会在指定时间31号到。可是今天下午再网上一查，悲剧了。。。输入了tracking number, 网上就显示：
Special Delivery™ Next Day items are first tracked when they have reached our mail centre. This may be late in the evening on the day the item was sent.
Information on your item is not yet available online.
这是什么意思？不会我的签证被寄丢了吧？还是他们有什么问题吗？我的地址肯定没有写错呀！

有的时候他们更新会慢些，明天再查查看。

意思就是说 如果你29号寄晚了 也许他们就下班了没来得及帮你发出去 所以你的SD可能不是星期一到 可能会延迟。
不过你是在签证到期之前寄出的 保留好SD的收据 不会影响签证。
申请日期对于邮寄来说是寄出之日。你31号签证到期，29号就寄出了，属于in-time application.
明早再看看了，是不是编号打错了？
一切以你寄出的日期为准，而不是他们收到的日期。放心。
但单据要留着，万一有问题，你好有证据。

就是说，申请日就是date of posting - 寄出之日。
证明寄出之日的证据很多。post mark可以算是，special delivery的收据（即post office收了你的SD信件后给你的收据）也算是。
