刚毕业，正在找工作，看见介绍上有一条 The employer has claimed an exception under the Equality Act 2010，这是什么意思啊？

There are a variety of exemptions which may be claimed by employers, and it would be helpful to know the employer’s business. For example, it is lawful for a charity to tackle unemployment among people of a particular ethnic origin if unemployment is particularly high for that group. Here, the people who can benefit from the charity are restricted to a group with a protected characteristic (ethnic origin) and the restriction is justified if unemployment is higher for that group than for the general population.
So if the organisation is devoted to tackling say, for example, high unemployment among young Asian men (if that’s the case) they may legitimately claim exemption from the law so they only employ people in that group.
楼上正解。一般的公司，如果没有这个exception，依据法律是对所有求职者都一视同仁公平对待的，不能因为你的性别，种族，信仰或者是否有残疾而拒你，不然你可以告他。
但是有些工种，比如说消防员吧，如果求职者是残疾人士须要坐轮椅的就不能胜任，这些工种的用人单位会申请这个exception，由于这些disability而没有被录用的人，就不能告他们了
