5年限制算的是课程时间，还是签证时间？这是今年新出的规定，在官方也没找到相关信息。

朋友06年9月初到英国读本科，07-08年修学（健康问题），2010年7月毕业，至今是PSW。现在想再读一年的ACCA，不知道可不可以？在本科的基础上，是不是只能读研，可不可以本科+相同level的课程？
可以读，没问题。 可以读同等level，level6 ok的

朋友说签证时间，相等水平的课程不能连续申请读超过五年。具体不是很清楚
The 5 year limit, and exceptions, will operate in addition to time permitted in Tier 4 (General) at below degree level (3 years) and any time spent in the Tier 4 (Child) route. The limit will consider study time, and will not count the additional periods of leave granted outside of course durations.
5年是限制level6以上的degreed学习不能超过5年 所以最好还是去问acca的学校愿不愿意提供你offer
按实际持签证时间算5年，但是取整年数。不过如果中间出现有签证，没上学的，签证时间照常记入5年。
目前问了一个学校，说只能读postgraduate diploma，不能用剩下的一年读ACCA。
再咨询一下，然后回来跟大家说结果。
5年的时间是按照课程时间来算，不是按照签证时间算的。
计算时间是精细到天，ukba的计算方法是从系统里面查看之前课程的开学时间和结束时间，计算之间的天数，5年一共是1825天。
In calculating the maximum amount of time that a Tier 4 student spends studying at or above
degree level, we will only include the length of the course and will not take into account the
additional periods of leave granted before or after the main course of study that are referred to
in the table at paragraph 83.

关于gap year的事情专门咨询过liverpool 的manager，给出的答案如果是因为身体原因，并且有学校和医院的证明，那么gap year的时间可以不算在5年内
如果没法提供这些，gap year的时间需要算在5年的时间里面。
根据您叙述您朋友的情况估计您朋友剩下的时间应该还有2年3个月左右的时间（如果gap year的时间可以扣除的话）acca 14门可以达到level 7，课程时间是2年左右。
是从以前的老学生签开始算呢？还是从T4签证开始算呢？有没有具体的开始时间呢？

所以现在的年份限制就是说 无论以前持有的是老的学生签证还是T4 所有的课程时间都计算在内了 无论是哪年开始读书的 只要本科加研究生 超过五年就不能再续签PHD以下的课程了 是这样理解么？

providing that on completion of the PhD, the time spent in Tier 4 (General) student category
will not exceed 8 years. If, as a result of the application for an extension of leave, the time
spent in the category would exceed 8 years, the extension application will be refused.
