You shouldn’t need to pay if your child is an infant and doesn’t have his/her own seat.
'The existing exemption for children under the age of 2 without their own seat continues to apply to children travelling in all classes. ’
If you child is over 2 and under 12, depends on which class s/he is travelling. So far the legislation has made so that children under 12 doesn’t need to pay APD if they are travelling in standard class. Children between 12-15 need to wait another 3 months.
