Can anyone explain DC motor’s components and its related control theory?
I did it last term…I thought I understood it pretty well…but still having problems in the real industry here…any type of DC motors will be good, i.e. shunt motors, or series motors or compound motors…
Please also mention what each components do…
I will appreciate it a lot…Thanks!!( at work, can’t type Chinese)

The series motor is designed to move large loads with high starting torque in applications such as a crane motor or lift hoist. The shunt motor is designed slightly differently, since it is made for applications such as pumping fluids, where constant-speed characteristics are important. The compound motor is designed with some of the series motor’s characteristics and some of the shunt motor’s characteristics. This allows the compound motor to be used in applications where high starting torque and controlled operating speed are both required.

The method to control the rotation speed of a DC motor is to control it’s driving voltage. The higher the voltage is, the higher the speed the motor tries to reach. of course you need to understand the limitation/data sheet of the motor can reach.
Other than that, It’s also can control the polarization as forward andreverse direction.
If you wanna a simple experiment, Prepare an equipment DC power supply, resistor and DC motor.
