SimplyDV Review Summary
Points for: Small, lightweight, excellent handling. Cinema 25P mode a major plus point. Superb quality widescreen HD images, superb Advanced-OIS, user-friendly menu system, Pre-Rec utility, good connectivity, much better positioning of battery and mini-joystick control
Points against: Joystick can be difficult to operate in a hurry, 700x digital zoom is superfluous, slight picture noise in low light, wind noise affects mic even at low level
Conclusion: A good all-round successor to the excellent HDC-SD5 due to improved design and additional features. 25P progressive mode recording will attract many new users, as will its undoubted appeal to newbie users looking for great quality and ease of use. Another fabulous product that further pushes the frontier for home High Def.
