If you’re outside the UK
You cannot apply for a replacement BRP if it expires while you are outside the UK. Instead, you’ll need to apply for a ‘replacement BRP visa’, which lets you re-enter the UK once only. It costs £154. You’ll need to prove your identity at a visa application centre to complete your application.
You’ll usually get a decision on your application within 3 weeks of proving your identity.
If your application is approved, your BRP will be sent to you with your decision letter.
You can apply for a replacement BRP when you return to the UK. You must do this within 3 months of its expiry unless you have a good reason, for example you were unable to return to the UK in that time.

请问如果卡过期了，申请replacement brp visa，难道入境英国后要重新申请 replacement brp吗？不会自动寄过来吗？
我没碰到过这事，只是搬运官方信息。内政部的意思是要重新申请。怎么可能帮你直接寄过来。回乡证和BRP是两回事。
永居卡没过期仅仅是超过2年没有入境英国的话，申请回乡签证，永居卡是会直接寄到邮局的。
我的问题是永居卡过期了而且超过2年没入境英国，回到英国后是不是要重新申请永居卡？
可以申请。申请一个replacement BRP card，一般就给30天，回来以后再续。我儿子当时就是这样
我就是想了解回到英国后是怎么申请的？是直接申请换卡就行了还是要提供更多材料像重新申请永居一样？
不复杂，就是2个很基本的材料，比如你3个月内的bank statement或 utility bill
离开英国太久，提供不了3个月内英国的账单或银行账户怎么办
