我签了6个月的访问学者签证，8月份签证到期后还有20天才能把工作做完，请问一下大家是否签证过期后我还能合法居留28天吗？
咨询了比较多身边朋友，没有权威说法，我比较担心，能否请版上达人指导一下？谢谢
签证到期之后自然就不是合法居留啦，那28天是给你限期离境时间。劝你还是签证到期之前就离开英国，否则如果你以后再想来就麻烦了
签证到期就不合法了，如果你以后还有来英国的计划，最好在签证到期前离开英国。否则对你以后的签证有影响！

这是个办法。你可以邮寄签证。花钱买时间。无论他给续签与否。你都算合法的。不过估计20天签证也许就有结果了。如果拒了你，你再走也可以。不过这样对你以后签证也会有影响，因为有拒签记录。最好是去面签下。如果理由充足应该没问题
只要是visitor visa（除特殊的Visitor类型），不管续签，转签，都不能在英国境内申请。
所以就算你申请，那结果一定是拒绝，还要交钱，更有可能20天之内护照就回来了，还有不良记录，你还是要走。当然，如果你碰到一个第一天上班的不懂规则的新手签证官，在你所有申请材料都齐全的情况下，有那么中彩票的可能，给你签了。那你的RP一定是极品。 但是可能性= 几乎不可能。
所以，快马加鞭，把工作做完，如果想合理合法在英国继续呆下去，就回国签证。
如果以后也不打算来了，那就黑到你要走的那一天。
选择是自己的，结果当然也是自己承担了。

那你就是一般的visitor,只有6个月。如果少于6个月可以续签，但是你的情况不行了。除非特殊情况。
If you come to the UK as a general visitor, you are allowed to remain here for a maximum of six months (or 12 months if you are acompanying an academic visitor). When you enter the UK, the length of your permission to enter will be stamped in your passport.
If we gave you permission to enter for three months and you want to extend your stay to the maximum of six (or 12) months in total, you will need to apply for an extension using the application form FLR(O).
If you were given permission to enter the UK for three months as a child visitor, and you are now 18, you can apply to entend your stay as a general visitor. The maximum total time that you can stay in the UK will still be six months (or 12 months if you are acompanying an academic visitor).
If we allow you to extend your stay, you must continue to meet the requirements.
You are expected to return home when your permission to stay as a visitor expires. In some circumstances, you may be able to transfer to a different immigration category.
